The Weindel Lab, based in the Department of Microbiology focuses on immunology of the periphery and central nervous system (CNS), studying how genetic variants impacting mitochondrial function predispose individuals to neurodegenerative disease and susceptibility to infection. The lab is currently seeking a Research Specialist II who will, under general supervision, perform a variety of routine and specialized laboratory tasks including preparing samples and specimens, performing straightforward experimental procedures (cell culture, cloning, PCR, western blot, microscopy, flow cytometry, buffer preparation, etc.), working with mice, and maintaining stocks of laboratory reagents and equipment.
