The Adult and Child Center for Health Outcomes Research and Delivery Science (ACCORDS) has an opening for a full-time Research Services Information Science Professional who has experience with qualitative research methods. This Qualitative Analyst position is within the Qualitative and Mixed Methods Research Core (QM2) at ACCORDS. ACCORDS has a portfolio of research studies focused on health services research or implementation science that engage diverse patient populations, healthcare providers, and community stakeholders. This position will work on practice- and community-based research projects and will provide research support by assisting with qualitative data collection, coding, tool development, regulatory needs, analysis, and reporting. The position may also involve assisting with general project needs, such as staffing, budget management, and other duties as determined by study Principal Investigators. The ideal candidate will have experience and training in qualitative research data collection, coding and analysis, working on teams, and experience with developing and submitting institutional review board protocols for pragmatic trials or health services research studies.
Key Responsibilities:
Day-to-day activities related to the implementation of research protocols, including engaging with stakeholder groups, conducting and leading in-depth interviews or focus groups with various groups (patients, parents/family members, adolescents, providers, and community members) and coordinating and attending meetings with project investigators and staff
Lead/manage tasks for qualitative data collection for basic methods (interviews and focus groups), such as recruitment, participant consenting and payment under frequent guidance of PI and Qualitative Methodologist
Develop and maintain Institutional Review Board applications, amendments, and continuing review documents for qualitative aims on study projects
Develop and maintain qualitative datasets, including entering, tracking, cleaning and preparing transcripts for analyses
Co-leading with methodologist, managing, and conducting rigorous team-based coding efforts including coding of transcripts, and codebook development; these efforts may involve training coding team members
Running queries and reports in qualitative data management software (Atlas.ti) and supporting qualitative analysis (ex. query summary planning, compiling query summaries/matrix summaries, etc.), under significant guidance of the PI and Qualitative Methodologist
May develop, pilot, and employ a variety of data collection instruments and interview and focus group guides with the study team
Additional Key Responsibilities for Senior Professionals:
Assist and train junior Core team members
May train early career investigators and fellows in qualitative data collection and analysis (SCORE fellowship and K awardees)
May support methodologist/PI in development of study findings
May support methodologist and PI in summarizing and presenting qualitative findings including drafting manuscript sections, abstracts, and presentations
Lead/manage tasks for qualitative data collection for basic methods (interviews and focus groups), such as recruitment, participant consenting and payment under frequent guidance of PI and Qualitative Methodologist
Co-lead (with methodologist), manage, and conduct rigorous team-based coding efforts including coding of transcripts, and codebook development; these efforts may involve training coding team members
May lead/co-lead presentations at professional conferences
Work Location:
Hybrid – this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 1 day per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Intermediate Professional
Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Public Health, or related field
One (1) year of experience in data collection, coding, team-based coding and codebook development, and basic analysis of qualitative data using rigorous methods.
Senior Professional
Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Public Health, or related field
Two (2) years of experience in data collection, coding, team-based coding and codebook development, and basic analysis of qualitative data using rigorous methods.
A combination of education and related technical/military/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis.
An advanced degree (Masters or PhD) may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis if the degree is in a field of study directly related to the work assignment.
A combination of education and related technical/military/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis.
An advanced degree (Masters or Doctorate) may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis if the degree is in a field of study directly related to the work assignment.

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as
Intermediate Professional: $58,363 - $78,207
Senior Professional: $63,096 - $84,548
The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
