The lab of Dr. Christina Roark, Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine and ClinImmune: The Center for Clinical Immunology, is seeking a highly motivated Research Services Entry Laboratory Professional for a full-time position on the University of Colorado Denver Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, CO.
The laboratory investigates the therapeutic potential for CRISPR/Cas9-mediated HLA-gene editing in autoimmune disease. This research spans the fields of molecular and cellular immunology, cell biology, and clinical immunology.
This position will be responsible for planning and executing experiments under the direction of Dr. Roark. The individual hired for this position will be expected to perform experiments, analyze and organize their data, and perform laboratory administrative duties. Training will be offered for any new or unfamiliar techniques by Dr. Roark and other lab personnel upon starting the position.
Key Responsibilities:
Handling of microbial cultures and tissue cultures
Perform molecular biology experiments such as cloning and PCR
Preparation of bacterial cultures for in vitro assays
Perform in vitro experiments with mammalian cell lines
Perform flow cytometry experiments
Data analysis and maintenance of records in laboratory notebook and storage on OneDrive.
Work Location:
Onsite – this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, Colorado.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in biology, molecular biology, chemistry, genetics or related field.
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in biology, molecular biology, chemistry, genetics or related field.
Prior experience or background within an experimental or wet laboratory.
Experience with techniques including mouse handling, tissue culture, flow cytometry, PCR, and other molecular biology assays.
Experience with models of lung inflammation or infection.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of basic laboratory techniques including safety procedures and techniques.
Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
Ability to interpret and master complex research protocol information.
Knowledge in the areas of Immunology and/or Bacteriology.

Anticipated Pay Range:
The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $47,811 – $64,067
The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
