
Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group (MAPMG) invites applications for the position of Research Scientist II (Infectious Disease Epidemiology/Health Services Research), which is a mid-career position equivalent to an academic associate professor, to join the Mid-Atlantic Permanente Research Institute (MAPRI). A research emphasis on HIV or other viruses, or other communicable diseases including sexually transmitted infections, is preferred. This is a full-time position based in our regional office located in Capitol Hill, Washington D.C with a hybrid work model.
Reporting to the Director of Research Science, the Research Scientist II will design and implement major investigator-initiated health services and epidemiology-related research projects in the area of infectious diseases. You will also secure external funding through federal, foundation, or industry grants, and disseminate findings through peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations. The Research Scientist II may contribute to intramural projects relevant to MAPRI and MAPMG, providing assistance as needed for study design, analysis plans, and interpretation of results. Please note, this is not a basic research, microbiology, non-human research, or bench science position.

The starting annual salary for this position ranges from $152,776.24 to $190,970.12 depending on circumstances including an applicant’s skills and qualifications, certain degrees and certifications, prior job experience, training, market data, and other relevant factors.
