The opportunity

For our research center in Sweden, we are looking for a research scientist with expertise in the area of Power Electronics, and power system. You will work in dynamic, motivated, and creative teams with a wide range of experience and competence and with access to highly advanced laboratory facilities.

How you'll make an impact

  • Lead groundbreaking research initiatives that shape the future of sustainable energy, leveraging your advanced expertise in power electronics and power systems.

  • Develop, design, and implement innovative solutions to technical challenges, driving progress in R&D projects and setting new industry standards.

  • Utilize state-of-the-art laboratory facilities to conduct experiments, analyze critical data, and validate pioneering concepts for real-world impact.

  • Take ownership of high-profile R&D projects and work-packages, applying strategic vision, scientific rigor, and exemplary leadership to inspire cross-disciplinary teams.

  • Develop and champion original ideas, securing funding and support for transformative research that advances energy systems at a global scale.

  • Engage in dynamic collaborations with leading experts, customers, suppliers, and academic partners, expanding your professional network and influence both within and outside the company.

  • Deliver high-value outcomes in the form of patent applications, peer-reviewed publications, technical reports, and compelling presentations at international conferences.

  • Mentor future innovators by sharing your knowledge, fostering creative thinking, and cultivating a culture of excellence and ambition across the organization.

Your background

  • PhD in Electrical Engineering with specialization in power electronics and/or power systems (or a comparable master’s degree with notable research achievements).

  • Strong expertise in designing and implementing power electronic converters and controllers, including hands-on experience with hardware prototyping, laboratory validation, and modeling & simulation.

  • Demonstrated experience with Transmission System Operator (TSO) requirements and deep understanding of grid code compliance for utility-scale energy systems (e.g., dynamic performance, fault-ride through, inertia, harmonics mitigation).

  • Proven experience leading complex R&D projects, ideally as a technical lead or principal investigator.

  • Additional expertise in energy storage, advanced control strategies, or application of machine learning in power systems is a plus.

  • Background in publishing peer-reviewed research, filing patents, or presenting at international conferences.

  • Excellent communication skills, a collaborative attitude, and adaptability to new challenges.

  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
