Salary: The
budgeted salary range for the position is $60,000 to $75,000.

The
laboratory of Dr. Jonathan Coloff in the Department of Physiology and
Biophysics at the University of Illinois Chicago has
an immediate opening for a Research Scientist to direct the investigation
of lipid metabolism in breast cancer.
Successful candidates will be required to formulate
and publish original research in peer-reviewed publications, along with
assisting in grant writing and progress reports to funding agencies. Research
will focus on mechanisms of lipid uptake from the extracellular environment and
how this interacts with endocrine therapy resistance in ER+ breast cancer cells.
Duties & Responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications
PhD in Biological Sciences or related topic required.
A minimum of five years’ experience in lipid metabolism techniques required.
Knowledge of lipid identification by mass spectrometry, mouse husbandry and genetic manipulation, organoid tissue culture growth and imaging, and statistics and statistical program usage.
