Plans, coordinates, directs, and participates in work of smaller research project or major unit of large research project in field of specialization for which incumbent is particularly qualified in terms of extensive training and/or experience.
The Li group is part of the Cell Biology Department at UT Southwestern, a rich learning environment with outstanding colleagues and state-of-the-art facilities. Our research centers around islet biology and diabetes. We combine diverse techniques including molecular and cellular biology, molecular engineering and chemical synthesis, as well as animal physiology to study islet cells both in vitro and in vivo.
We are looking for a Research Scientist. He/she will join our team to develop targeted drug delivery to islet beta cells for treating diabetes. The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Chemical Biology, or Organic Synthesis. Skills and experience in biochemistry, cell biology, and lead compounds optimization and development are desired. Experience in diabetes research a plus. Prefer candidates that are self-motivated and have 1-2 1st author publications within the last 3 years.
