[What the role is]

ISEAS-Yusof Ishak Institute (ISEAS) is now accepting applications for the position of Research Officer with a Geographic Information System (GIS) skillset.

The Research Officer will provide ISEAS programmes with GIS support when needed, and broader administrative and research assistance. He/she should be able to work independently under limited supervision and will have the opportunity to undertake research projects.

[What you will be working on]

Responsibilities

Successful applicants are expected to:

• Support ISEAS research projects and products with GIS expertise, especially in terms of visualisation and analysis of geographic/spatial data;
• Support the operations, administrative and editorial work for research projects/programmes;
• Undertake research projects in collaboration with other researchers to deliver a range of ISEAS written products; and
• Contribute to the Institute’s collective research and public outreach efforts.

[What we are looking for]

Requirements

• University degree in GIS or closely related field, advanced degree preferred;
• Fluency in ArcGIS Pro is essential;
• Good cartographic skills;
• Keen interest in conducting research on assigned topics;
• Excellent communication and writing skills in English;
• Experience in copy-editing and other forms of editorial work highly desirable; and
• Positive work attitude, a high sense of professionalism and ability to work under demanding circumstances.
