Job Description

The Department of Periodontics at Texas A&M University College of Dentistry invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track Research faculty (Non-Tenure)position, with appointment beginning fall 2026Applicants will be considered for the faculty title of Research Assistant Professor

The successful candidate is expected to be an energetic, accomplished researcher to drive pioneering research initiatives, manage laboratory projects, and contribute to the academic mission of the Department and the College The successful candidate will have opportunities for multidisciplinary collaboration, securing external funding, and mentoring graduate and resident students.

The successful candidate is also expected to develop, lead, and execute independent and collaborative research projects, apply for external research funding, publish research findings in high-impact peer-reviewed journals, mentor graduate students, dental residents, and postdoctoral fellows, and oversee daily laboratory operations, compliance, and data integrity. Lastly, the successful candidate is expected to contribute to the service activities of the Department.

Qualifications

The successful candidate must have a PhD in Applied Chemistry, hands-on experience in polymer materials design, synthesis, and characterization, expertise in developing animal models for pulp/dentin and periodontal tissue regeneration, proficiency in charactereization techniques such as NMR, SEM, TEM, FTIR, DSC, AFM, GPC, and hands-on experience with cell culture and related technologies.
