Job Title: Research Intern, Computer Vision & Multimodal AI
Location: San Jose, CA 95131, US
The opportunity
Join our research team to push the boundaries of what’s possible in Computer Vision. This isn't a "support" role -you will be at the heart of the research process, tackling unsolved problems in areas like 3D scene modeling and understanding, Vision-Language Models (VLMs), and Multimodal Generative AI. You will have the opportunity to work with a diverse group of researchers in the exploration of advanced techniques.
Your impact
• Drive Innovation: Design and implement novel architectures and methods that move beyond the current state-of-the-art.
• Survey the Horizon: Conduct deep-dive literature reviews and benchmarking to identify gaps in existing research and inspire new directions.
• Experimental Rigor: Develop, train, and refine models using large-scale datasets, evaluating success through both rigorous quantitative metrics and qualitative insights.
• Contribute to the Community: Draft high-quality manuscripts for submission to top-tier venues (e.g., CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, NeurIPS, ICML) and present your findings to internal stakeholders.
What we are look for
• Core Expertise: A deep intuition for Computer Vision and Machine Learning fundamentals (e.g., 3D modeling, transformer architectures, latent diffusion).
• Framework Mastery: Expert-level Python skills and hands-on experience with PyTorch (or similar frameworks).
• Research Pedigree: Currently enrolled in a PhD program in Computer Science or a related field, with a focus on CV/ML research.
• Communication: The ability to distill complex technical concepts into clear papers and presentations.
• Collaboration: A proactive mindset - you are comfortable leading a project while remaining open to feedback and mentorship from senior researchers.
Preferred Qualifications
• A track record of publications (or high-quality pre-prints) at top-tier AI conferences.
• Experience with specific domains such as 3DGS/NeRFs, Diffusion Models, or Large Multimodal Models (LMMs).
• Knowledge of computer graphics is a plus
