Hudson Institute seeks an intern to begin immediately in support of Fellow Nadav Samin’s work on Middle East policy. This intern will provide research and administrative support to the Center for Peace and Security in the Middle East. In addition to being exposed to critical issues in the Middle East and North Africa, interns will spend significant time in discussion with regional experts. Those who work onsite will also have the opportunity to assist with, and attend, Hudson Institute public events, as well as intern-specific events featuring Hudson scholars and experts across Washington, DC.

Responsibilities include

• Gathering and analyzing data for inclusion in reports and articles
• Writing literature reviews using gathered data
• Keeping the expert and team up to date on current events
• Assisting the expert with research projects and presentations
• Assisting with articles, op-eds, reports, and briefing memos
• Creating databases of department contacts
• Assisting with administrative tasks and event support

Requirements

• Candidates should be recent graduates or current students working towards a degree in history, political science, international relations, economics, security studies, Middle Eastern studies, or related fields.
• Candidates should show a demonstrated interest in diplomacy issues in the Middle East and/or North Africa.
• Candidates should be able to work independently, manage their time wisely, and meet deadlines.
• Especially interested in candidates with experience in social media analysis.
• Candidates should be detail-focused, reliable, professional, and possess strong research, writing, editing, and analysis skills, as well as excellent communication, and interpersonal skills.
• This position is open to both in-person and remote candidates. Please indicate your preferred work arrangement in your cover letter.
• Proficiency in Hebrew is required. Especially interested in candidates with Persian, Mandarin, and Russian skills. Please indicate your language abilities in your application.
