Internships at Carnegie India

Carnegie India offers three-to-twelve-month internships to support the Center's scholars and programs. Interns are an integral part of Carnegie's growing global network.

Interns are provided a stipend.

General Requirements

Candidates must:

  • Be a recent graduate
  • Have an excellent verbal and written command of English

Research Intern – Technology & Society Focus Areas

Carnegie India is seeking research interns, with a background in public policy, law, technology, economics, finance, or a related field to work for a period of six to nine months starting 1 May, 2026

  • The intern may be assigned administrative, editorial, research, writing, or organisational tasks to provide overall support to Carnegie India's Technology & Society focus area. The intern will also assist scholars on ongoing projects, background research, and events.
  • The internship will require the intern to play a supporting role in helping organise Carnegie India's flagship summit – the Global Technology Summit and any other events as necessary.
  • Responsibilities may include research assistance on issues relating to Artificial Intelligence (AI), Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI), semiconductors, space policy, biotechnology, data governance, military applications of AI, cybersecurity, subsea cables and nuclear energy.
  • The ideal candidate must have:
    • Excellent research and writing skills.
    • Strong interest in technology policy.
    • The ability to be an enthusiastic and creative team player while working both independently and collaboratively.

This is a full-time role and the selected candidates will be required to attend the offices of Carnegie India in New Delhi.
