Job Description

Scheduled Hours

40Collects, prepares, and manages complex financial information, which provides management with recommendations and documentation used in planning and budgeting.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Collects, analyzes and maintains cost data to produce quarterly and annual financial reports used by management.
  • Assists in development, preparation, review and evaluation of annual strategic planning project and budgeting process.
  • Develops and prepares presentation of complex financial results to administration relative to clinical study revenue. Ensures accuracy and thoroughness of reports along with retaining them for future reference and development.
  • Designs/implements database applications for billing and invoicing using variety of FIS/FOCUS/IDX related applications.
  • Designs/implements computer programs and account approval practices used to extract financial data from account system.
  • Prepares and reviews monthly sponsor billing for clinical research. Tracks revenue and outstanding invoices.
  • Attends meetings, education programs, workshops and keeps abreast of current literature.
  • Act as backup to process documents related to reimbursement of employee expenses, travel documents, purchase orders, blanket orders, invoice statements, and various types of documents handled through the office.
  • Examines financial data to project short and long-term outcomes for clinical research.
  • Participates in the development, preparation, review, and evaluation of new processes related to external clinical study payments.
  • Act as a resource for the department on transactional inquiries and financial/budgetary questions that require problem-solving and analytic capability.
  • Reviews financial performance, operations, and accounts receivable for clinical research. They also work on developing processes to support business activity.

  • Collaborates closely with the Billing team to generate reports and review balances, end dates, spending, etc. for all clinical research funds.
  • May plan, develop, and prepare special financial reports for management.

Salary Range

$49,700.00 - $82,100.00 / AnnuallyThe salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
