  • Contribute to the development of competitive research funding applications and support the successful delivery of funded research projects.

  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, researchers, health services, government agencies and other key stakeholders.

  • Support research excellence through mentoring students and early career researchers, and contribute to supervision activities where appropriate.

  • Contribute to the effective operation of the Centre through participation in administrative activities, strategic initiatives and a positive, inclusive workplace culture.

About you

  • Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, with a strong understanding of culturally appropriate and ethical approaches to research engagement.

  • Experience conducting original research within Aboriginal health, public health, medical research or healthcare settings, with evidence of scholarly outputs and research impact.

  • A developing research profile and professional network, with the ability to build collaborative relationships across academic, industry, community and government stakeholders.

  • Proven ability to supervise, mentor and support students or early career researchers, alongside strong communication, presentation and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • A genuine commitment to improving Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health outcomes, supported by a sound understanding of relevant research guidelines, strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
