The Opportunity

Monash University's School of Physics and Astronomy in the Faculty of Science sits at the forefront of discovery, attracting researchers who want their work to matter beyond the laboratory. This fixed-term, full-time Research Fellow position offers the scope to drive original inquiry within a collaborative and well-resourced academic environment at the Clayton campus.

Working within an active research group, this position will be in support of a project to develop and demonstrate micro-scale intracranial probes to sense the extremely small magnetic fields resulting from the currents flowing along nerve cells due to brain activity. The probes to be developed will utilise a quantum sensor based on optically detectable defects in diamond that are sensitive to magnetic fields.
