
The Section Digital and High-Frequency Electronics at the Institute of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Southern Denmark (SDU) is opening a new position at the level of Engineer Researcher.
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated researcher to contribute to the development of next-generation robotic systems for infrastructure monitoring and maintenance. The successful candidate will be involved in the design, development, and testing of advanced robotic solutions, as well as supporting related administrative and project activities.

The section conducts research in digital and high-frequency electronics, embedded systems, control, and communication, with a focus on reconfigurable computing and advanced sensing technologies. Its goal is to develop next-generation solutions for applications such as autonomous robots, racing cars and drones, IoT, and smart grids.
The section contributes to Electrical Engineering education in Odense at both Bachelor and Master levels and focuses on three main research areas: drones for infrastructure inspection and interaction, real-time processing, and optimized power electronics. It comprises 18 staff members and maintains strong links to industry while continuing to grow.
SDU Odense offers an interdisciplinary academic environment with five faculties and a nearby university hospital. The city provides a vibrant robotics ecosystem and a high quality of life.

The position is full time and for a period of two years - starting September 1st, 2026.
Employment shall take place in accordance with the framework agreement between the Ministry of Finance and AC (the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations).
