Research & Data Specialist | Brooklyn, NY · $25–$35/hour

About the Role A Brooklyn-based non-profit medical referral agency dedicated to supporting individuals and families facing medical challenges is looking for a detail-driven Research & Data Specialist to join their team. This is a focused, independent role centered on maintaining and updating a comprehensive database of thousands of physician profiles — methodical, meaningful work that directly supports the organization's mission of connecting people to the right medical care. Key Responsibilities

Physician Profile Management

• Research and update physician profiles on an ongoing cycle
• Create new profiles and prioritize updates as directed by leadership
• Ensure all information is accurate, current, and thoroughly documented

Database & Research Operations

• Work through assigned physician lists systematically and independently
• Coordinate with team members via shared Google Sheets to track progress and avoid duplicate work
• Cover and reassign workloads as needed to maintain continuity

Medical Research

• Apply knowledge of medical terminology, specialties, and subspecialties to research and organize physician information
• Build and maintain accurate medical hierarchies within the database

Qualifications

• Strong research skills and exceptional attention to detail
• Comfortable with independent, focused work — this is not a high-energy or client-facing role
• Proficient with Google Sheets or similar collaborative tools
• Stable, reliable, and organized with a methodical approach to tasks
