Position Title: Research, Data and Evaluation Analyst
Department: StFX Centre for Aging and Disability Justice
Position Type: Part-time, 9-Month Term with possibility of renewal
Salary Range: $33,000-42,000 (based on 22.5 hours/week)

The Centre supports interdisciplinary, community-partnered, and first voice-led research that addresses critical policy issues, with a focus on rural communities.

St. Francis Xavier University is seeking a Research, Data and Evaluation Analyst to support community-engaged research at the Centre on a Part-Time 9-month contract, with the possibility of renewal. The successful candidate will work independently, taking initiative to manage research and evaluation projects, meet timelines, and deliver high-quality research and evaluation outputs within a multi-year collective impact initiative. The role also involves collaboration with campus and community partners to support accessible and ethical research and evaluation practices.

The position includes knowledge mobilization, translating research findings into accessible formats (e.g., reports, briefs, presentations), and sharing them with diverse audiences. This position is primarily in-person on the StFX campus, with the possibility of some remote work.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Design and implement qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-methods research studies
• Develop and support data collection methods, including surveys (e.g., Qualtrics), interviews, and focus groups, in community-based contexts
• Conduct data analysis and ensure ethical, secure, and well-documented data management practices
• Lead and/or contribute to program evaluation and impact assessment activities
• Interpret and synthesize research findings for scholarly and applied purposes
• Produce high-quality written outputs and data visualizations for academic and non-academic audiences
• Contribute to knowledge mobilization activities, including dissemination and uptake of findings
• Support grant development, reporting requirements, and research ethics submissions
• Collaborate with project partners to strengthen capacity in data collection, analysis, and evidence-informed decision-makin

Qualifications and Skills

• Undergraduate degree in social sciences, health sciences, data analysis, public administration, or a related field
• Minimum 3 years of relevant demonstrated experience in data analysis, research, evaluation, and reporting
• Demonstrated experience conducting qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-methods research
• Strong competencies in data management, statistical and/or qualitative analysis, and visualization
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage competing priorities within established timelines
• Proficiency with office software (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, databases)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

Assets

• Graduate degree in a relevant field
• Experience in non-profit, community-based, or grant-funded research environments
• Familiarity with Mi’kmaw Ethics Watch review processes
