Position: Research Coordinator

Department: TEAM UP Scaling and Sustainability Center

Location: Boston, MA

Schedule: 40 hours per week, On-site

POSITION SUMMARY

The Research Coordinator manages the day-to-day operational and coordination activities that support research and evaluation studies for the TEAM UP Center at Boston Medical Center, an initiative advancing integrated behavioral health (IBH) in pediatric primary care. Working under the direction of the Deputy Director of Research and Evaluation Operations, this position is primarily responsible for coordinating study recruitment and enrollment, administering staff surveys, planning and executing site visits for ethnographic studies, and liaising with the IRB and partner practice sites to keep study activities on track. This position exercises independent judgment in coordinating multi-site logistics and escalates protocol or compliance issues to the Deputy Director as needed.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinates with clinical and administrative staff at partner sites to facilitate research and evaluation activities, including tracking study milestones and maintaining coordination logs across sites,
  • Plans and coordinates site visits for ethnographic and qualitative studies across TEAM UP partner pediatrics practices across many states, including scheduling, logistics, and materials preparation
  • Administers staff surveys, including distributing instruments, tracking response rates, and following up with respondents to ensure completion.
  • Assists with preparation and maintenance of IRB protocols, amendments, and renewals, including consent documentation to support ongoing compliance
  • Supports development and execution of Research, Evaluation and Learning (REL) Plans, evaluation frameworks, and briefing materials for leadership, funders, and implementation partners
  • Participates in research and evaluation team meetings; records and distributes minutes as needed
  • Performs quality control checks on data collection instruments, dashboards, and derived variables
  • Documents processes involved in data preparation, cleaning, and analytic procedures to ensure reproducibility

JOB REQUIREMENTS

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years of experience in research coordination, human subjects research, or program evaluation; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Master's degree in public health or a related field. Experience coordinating IRB submissions and multi-site research activities.

PREFERRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • CITI human subjects research certification

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Ability to prepare and maintain IRB protocol documentation and consent materials in accordance with federal human subjects regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for tracking, reporting, and presentation preparation.
  • Ability to coordinate logistics for multi-site research activities, including scheduling, travel, and materials preparation.
  • Ability to track and report recruitment, enrollment, and study milestones using tracking logs or databases.
  • Working knowledge of survey administration and response-tracking procedures.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive research and participant information in accordance with HIPAA and institutional policy.
  • Basic knowledge of data extraction and quality control procedures for research databases.

Compensation Range:

$25.48- $37.02

This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications. However, our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive, and a broad range of factors is considered when making an offer. This includes education, experience, skills, and certifications/licensures as they directly relate to position requirements; as well as business/organizational needs, internal equity, and market-competitiveness.
