The Research Coordinator I will work with investigators in the Department of Medicine in the Section of Epidemiology and Population Sciences. This position will be working on various projects, and will work closely with maintaining contact with the study participants and communities involved in the research study. Day to day activities of research protocols which include screening, enrollment, and monitoring of research participants. Due to the nature of several ongoing studies, the position will require calling study participants outside of normal office hours. Ensures accurate data collection, documentation, organization and safety of research participants.

Job Duties

• Identify and pre-screen potential participants through clinic schedules and provider referrals; document eligibility per study protocol.
• Obtain informed consent by explaining study purpose, procedures, risks, and expectations; ensure all consent documentation is complete and compliant.
• Collect study data through medical record abstraction, surveys, and direct participant interaction, enter into REDCap or other systems.
  Perform basic data checks and resolve discrepancies to maintain data accuracy and integrity.
• Process biological specimens per protocol, including labeling, documentation, packaging, and shipment; maintain records.
• Maintain regulatory and study documentation to ensure audit readiness.
• Retrieve lab and test results from clinical systems and submit to investigators or study teams as required.
• Coordinate participant scheduling, study visits, and follow-up communications via phone and email; document all interactions.
• Track and manage study supplies and equipment, monitor inventory and place orders as needed.
• Supports multiple research studies by coordinating day-to-day study activities and ensuring adherence to study protocols and timelines.
• Monitors study enrollment and data quality using study databases and prepares basic reports as needed.
• Coordinates study visits and facilitates communication between investigators, participants, and study teams.
• Assists with preparation for monitoring visits, audits, and sponsor reporting.
• Performs other job duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Three years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
