Your opportunity:

The Research Coordinator will play a vital role in supporting the dynamic and interdisciplinary research environment of the Toronto Computational Imaging Group and the Toronto Intelligent Systems Laboratory. These two research labs conduct cutting-edge research in computational imaging, computer vision, robotics, and machine learning. Their work spans theoretical foundations, algorithm development, and experimental validation through state-of-the-art robotics and imaging facilities. The Research Coordinator will work closely with students, postdoctoral fellows, and faculty members to facilitate research activities, manage collaborative projects, and support grant applications, reporting, and knowledge mobilization, among other duties. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to high-impact research with real-world applications, while gaining exposure to cutting-edge technologies and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Coordinating meeting schedules, agendas, materials, action and follow-up items
• Verifying the accuracy and completeness of grant submissions
• Creating and updating records
• Conducting systematic literature reviews
• Preparing draft statistical reports and summaries from data collected for publications and/or presentations use
• Recording or verifying transactions on a single account
• Serving as a resource to others by providing (non-supervisory) job-related guidance

Essential Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of education and equivalent experience.
• Minimum one year of experience supporting research project initiatives in the field of computational imaging, robotics, and machine learning.
• Experience supporting research projects, including coordinating meetings and seminars, coordinating event and travel logistics, maintaining project timelines, creating and updating filing and internal documentation systems, and tracking deliverables.
• Experience overseeing and managing tracking, maintaining, and verifying lab budgets and expenditures, preparing expense reimbursements, and coordinating inventory and purchasing.
• Proven experience analyzing data, and preparing research summaries, reports, and presentations.
• Experience coordinating grant submissions and familiarity with NSERC grant writing processes and funding agency requirements.
• Previous experience supporting interdisciplinary or multi-institutional research initiatives.
• Proficiency with standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Workspace), inventory management software (e.g., Sortly), and task-management software (e.g., Todoist).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise with external collaborators.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced research environment.
• Experience allocating compute resources and equipment.
