What We Want
The Mosbacher Institute Research Coordinator contributes to the completion of Institute research projects and scholarly publications in English, primarily dealing with energy policy. The Research Coordinator may also supervise undergraduate and master’s student research assistants. Work is performed under general supervision with evaluation based on the successful completion of tasks assigned.

Other Requirements and Factors
This is a full-time staff position at the Mosbacher Institute’s office located at the Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. A typical workday schedule is 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the office space provided.
This position is funded from grant and/or contract funding, which is renewed through provisions of the grantor of the contract. Therefore, this position is contingent upon continuation of funding from these grants and/or contracts, as well as satisfactory job performance.
Essential Duties/Tasks
Research Support
Conducts literature reviews and synthesizes relevant research
Collects, compiles, and manages research data
Analyzes data using quantitative and economic analysis methods
Works to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of data and research
Assists in drafting and editing academic publications and research materials
Outreach
Drafts and publishes opinion editorials, blogs, and related communications on energy policy research
Develops and implements strategies to disseminate research to stakeholders and broader public audiences
Supports outreach initiatives designed to expand the visibility and impact of the Institute’s research
Research-Related Events & Programming
Assists with planning and execution of research-related programming, including academic conferences, workshops, seminars, and public lectures
Assists in developing briefing materials and post-event reports
Research Supervision
Provides direction and supervision of student research assistants
Trains students in research methods, as needed
Administrative & Budget Support
Coordinates research meetings with the Mosbacher research team
Monitors research expenditures and ensures adherence to budgetary constraints
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Three years of related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree in a social science discipline, preferably public policy, international affairs, or economics.
Experience with analyzing data.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Demonstrated thorough knowledge of statistical research methods and analysis of data using a variety of multivariate and multilevel techniques.
Demonstrated ability to apply appropriate research methods to public policy.
Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
Ability to work in a collaborative, team-based, multidisciplinary environment.
Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
