Your opportunity:
Working under the supervision of the Research Awards & Honours Strategy Officer and reporting to the Director of Research Services, the Research Awards & Honours Coordinator will play a critical role in supporting the development of competitive research awards, honours, and prize nominations for Arts & Science (A&S) faculty members. The position will work closely with faculty members across A&S academic units and play a key role in supporting A&S departmental and divisional Research awards committees. Responsibilities will include developing research award strategies, providing expert council on the development of awards dossiers, researching, drafting and editing nomination materials for various research awards and honours, coordinating letters of reference, verifying that submission materials meet awarding agency/ foundation standards, and interpreting and applying policies and procedures. You will liaise with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders and deliver presentations to promote research awards programs. You will also develop research awards competition schedules and processes, track nomination activities and contribute to and draw upon a centralized institutional awards and honours database, ensure timely delivery of awards and honours information to support A&S communications activities, organize logistical details and activities for meetings, events and/or programming, and take minutes at committee meetings.
