The role

We are looking for an enthusiastic new colleague to join our team of Research Audiologists!

This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of clinical audiology and applied hearing research. In this position, you can continue developing your hearing rehabilitation skills while getting practical exposure to cutting-edge research.

Through close collaboration with Researchers, you will expand your knowledge of the latest developments in the field and contribute to advancing solutions that improve the lives of people with hearing loss.

The responsibilities of a Research Audiologist span from recruiting and rehabilitating test participants in our hearing clinic to participating in the planning and execution of scientific experiments involving people with hearing loss. This role depends on being detail-focused, working well with others, and using your background to support better outcomes for people with hearing loss.

Rehabilitative tasks:

The daily work and responsibility in the hearing clinic is shared amongst the audiologists and involves:

  • Audiometry, hearing aid fitting, counselling, and other related tasks for the hearing clinic.
  • Recruitment of new test participants for our database.
  • Development and improvement of clinical procedures.

Research-related tasks:

From our research projects you will gain insights and experience with scientific measurements such as EEG, pupillometry etc. Your main responsibility as a Research Audiologist in our research work is to support our scientists in planning, preparing, and executing experimental work, which involves:

  • Experiment planning in accordance with ethical considerations.
  • Preparation of test protocols, written information and execution of experimental work.
  • Professional sparring and interaction with our scientific staff from various scientific backgrounds.
  • Conference participation and presentations of research projects and results.

Your background

You hold a master’s degree in audiology /audiologopedics or an equivalent field. The ideal candidate is a recent graduate, potentially with a few years of experience in hearing aid fitting and a solid understanding of the human aspects of hearing rehabilitation.

You might have gained scientific experience from research-related work. This would be an advantage, but it is not a requirement.

You are an organized and structured team player, and you welcome and reflect upon other people’s input and ideas. You take initiative and share your own ideas to help improve the quality of the projects you work on

As part of the role, you will occasionally present research findings, project updates, and audiological topics to colleagues, test participants and collaborators. We are therefore looking for someone who enjoys sharing knowledge and is comfortable presenting professional content to others.

You are fluent in both English and Danish, both verbally and in writing, since both languages are used at Eriksholm every day
