
We are looking for a Research Geologist for the Gulf Coast Carbon Center (GCCC) to perform reearch focusing on subsurgace geologic aspects of CO2 storage.
In this position, the researcher will have the following responsibilities:
Required Qualifications:
PhD. in geology or related field. 5 years of post-graduate experience in geoscience. Demonstrable direct experience with Gulf of Mexico Basin geology and advanced knowledge of Carbon Capture and Storage topics and aspects specific to project development in the Gulf Coast region and beyond. Leadership in directing research, including supervision of participants on externally-funded research projects. Publication record (five or more relevant publications) reflecting expertise in Carbon Capture and Storage.
Preferred qualifications:
Industry professional experience in geoscience, particularly energy and hydrocarbon exploration, basin evaluation, and training. PI or Co-PI role in DOE-NETL funded Carbon Capture and Storage research project(s). Demonstrated knowledge of University research environment.
