Job Description

Dr. Karen Adolph and Dr. Catherine Tamis-LeMonda at New York University are seeking a part-time research associate to assist in video transcription and annotation. The projects aim to collect one-hour videos of mother-child interaction in the home environment, along with transcriptions of mother and child talk and annotation of object interaction, locomotion, facial emotion, and communication.

Position Responsibilities

The research associate will be overseen by research staff in Drs. Adolph and Tamis-LeMonda's labs. Transcription and annotation duties entail using specialized software to mark parent and child object interaction, locomotion, emotion, and communication events from home visit videos. Interested applicants could perform transcription and/or annotation duties depending on skillset.

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the hourly base rate for this position is $18-$20/hour. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer.

Per NYU's remote-work policy, this position is expected to be fully in-person.

Qualifications

Attention to detail and organizational skills are necessary. Fluency in English is required. Positions require a 10-20 hour/week commitment, ideally in blocks of 3-4 hours. This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.
