Location: Karachi Introduction:The Department of Medicine at The Aga Khan University Hospital comprises independent sections of Cardiology, Dermatology, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Internal Medicine, Infectious Diseases, Nephrology, Neurology, and Pulmonary & Critical Care. The department has over 70+ full-time Faculty with a strong commitment to undergraduate and postgraduate education and research. Residency Programmes are offered in Internal Medicine, Neurology, Adult Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Pulmonary Medicine, Nephrology and Dermatology, as well as Fellowship Programmes in Clinical Neurophysiology & Electrodiagnostic Medicine, Diabetes, Endocrinology & Metabolism, Interventional Cardiology, Infectious Diseases, Gastroenterology and ERCP. The Department of Medicine at Aga Khan University invites applications for the position of Research Associate in the Section of Gastroenterology. Responsibilities:You will be responsible to:Assist investigators in overall research program implementationConduct literature searches and support development of study protocols, grant and ERC applicationsCollect data using qualitative and quantitative research methodsSupport development, implementation, and validation of research toolsPerform data entry, cleaning, management, and analysisAssist in manuscript writing, abstracts, and research reportsPrepare weekly and monthly progress reportsCoordinate communication among research teams and stakeholdersPerform other duties assigned by the Principal Investigator.
Required Qualifications and ExperienceBachelor’s degree in MBBS, MD, BDS, or BSc Nursing from a recognized university1–2 years of relevant research experience in an academic or clinical research settingFamiliarity with qualitative and quantitative research methodsExperience in data collection, analysis, and interpretationStrong literature search and academic writing skillsProficiency in REDCap, SPSS, MS Office, EndNote or similar toolsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work effectively in a multidisciplinary teamWillingness to travel to field sites, if required.
