Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center is seeking a Research Associate to support innovative laboratory research projects that have the potential to improve patient outcomes and expand scientific knowledge. In this role, you'll work alongside researchers and investigators, conducting experiments, analyzing data, processing biological samples, and helping drive studies from concept to discovery.

This is an excellent opportunity for a curious, detail-oriented scientist who enjoys hands-on laboratory work and wants to make a meaningful impact through research.

The starting annual salary for this position is $62,514 and this can include a full comprehensive benefits package.

What You'll Do

As a Research Associate, you will:

Perform laboratory experiments and specialized testing in support of ongoing research studies and scientific investigations.

Collect, analyze, and accurately document research data and experimental results.

Assist with the development, optimization, and troubleshooting of laboratory methods and research procedures.

Process and prepare blood, tissue, and other biological samples for a variety of research applications.

Isolate cells and other biological materials used in pre-clinical and clinical research projects.

Operate, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain specialized laboratory equipment and instrumentation.

Create data summaries, charts, and reports using scientific software and data analysis tools.

Monitor laboratory inventory and ensure supplies, reagents, and materials are available to support research activities.

Assist investigators in implementing new techniques and procedures published in scientific literature.

Maintain accurate laboratory records and documentation in accordance with established standards.

Support the day-to-day operation of laboratory and research facilities.

Collaborate with researchers, students, trainees, and laboratory staff to advance research goals.

Stay current with scientific advancements through literature reviews, educational programs, conferences, and training opportunities.

Qualifications:

Required Education and Experience

1. Master’s degree and the equivalent of eighteen (18) months of full-time professional research experience in a laboratory, clinical or scientific research environment; or
2. Bachelor’s degree and the equivalent of thirty (30) months of full-time professional research experience in a laboratory, clinical or scientific research environment.

NOTE:

Degrees must be conferred by an accredited school, college, or university, or by an institution recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center and/or Health Research Incorporated as adhering to acceptable educational standards.
