Salary Range: $50,000 - $55,000

The Research Associate (Qualitative Research Support) is responsible for coordinating key components of research study activities with a focus on qualitative research projects. This role supports the planning and execution of focus groups and interviews, assists with participant recruitment and engagement, maintains research databases, and ensures accurate handling of study-related administrative and data management tasks. The position also supports Institutional Review Board (IRB) submissions, participant compensation processes, and the development and dissemination of research and educational materials. The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with research staff and investigators to ensure smooth study operations.

Required Education and Experience:
* Bachelor's degree in a life science or other health professions field and a minimum of three years of related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Required Skills and Abilities:
* Demonstrated computer skills, and proficiency with MS Office Suite software programs.
* Aptitude in professionalism
* Excellent written and oral communications skills
* Able to resolve problems/issues
* Must have strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with a diverse population of students, faculty, staff, sponsors, and research participants
* Demonstrated organizational and prioritization skills, along with the ability to work in a dynamic environment and to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
* Ability to work independently or as a team with excellent attention to detail and adherence to project deadlines.
* Ability to travel to off-site locations that may not be accessible via public transportation.
* Strong time management skills

Preferred Skills and Abilities:
* Prior experience with RedCap,
* Prior research experience in a healthcare setting.
* Prior research experience with NIH sponsored research studies or investigator-initiated research studies.

Essential Duties:
* Coordinate team meetings, focus groups, and qualitative interviews
* Support scheduling and logistical coordination of research activities
* Assist in the dissemination of research communications, including updates and summaries
* Assist in the development of educational content for research projects
* Prepare and submit Institutional Review Board (IRB) applications and related documentation
* Maintain IRB records and ensure documentation is complete and up to date
* Maintain REDCap databases to support data collection and study organization
* Support data entry and ensure accuracy of research data
* Manage ClinCard registration and participant payment processes
* Recruit participants for focus groups and qualitative interviews using approved strategies
* Support participant outreach and engagement for study participation
* Develop focus group and interview guides
* Transcribe focus group and qualitative interview recordings
* Code qualitative data from transcripts and sessions
* Conducts chart reviews as needed to support appropriate data capture
* Performs other duties as assigned.

This position is assigned a hybrid work arrangement (on-campus and remote), the duration of this hybrid work arrangement is at the discretion of Temple University and the Department.
