The University of Colorado, Department of Ophthalmology has an open position for a full time research associate. This position will consist of working in Artificial Intelligence team. The Department of Ophthalmology participates in multiple sponsored and investigator-initiated clinical trials for diseases and disorders of the eye.Our involvement in a wide variety of studies including surveys, observational, interventional, device and drug trials contribute valuable knowledge for the ophthalmic community at large.
Key Responsibilities
Review, annotate and analyze data obtained from research in an accurate and timely manner
Adhere to research regulatory standards
Grade ocular imaging for image biomarkers
Annotate/label ocular imaging to develop artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms for image biomarkers
Confirm and adjust AI-detection of image biomarkers
Review patient charts and images to assist in annotation for training and evaluating AI models.
Perform baseline and longitudinal ocular imaging grades for qualitative and quantitative ocular disease image biomarkers
Assist in analysis and writing of research manuscripts related to AI in ophthalmology.
Work Location:
Onsite - this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, CO.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
Qualified candidates will have clinical training in ophthalmology or optometry with degree commensurate for clinical practice (MD/DO/OD or equivalent degree)
Experience or proficiency in medical and surgical management in ophthalmology, specifically the usage and grading of imaging in this capacity
Preferred Qualifications:
Two(2)years ofclinicalresearchorrelated experience
Experiencewithelectronicdatacapturesystems (e.g.EMRorEHRanddata managementsystems)
Background understanding of medical AI, particularly in ophthalmology, including prior research in this area and/or grading ophthalmic imaging
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Anticipated Pay Range:
The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:
$80,000 - $100,000
The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
