
RMIT Vietnam is seeking a Research Assistant (6 months & Third-party contract) to support a community-focused research project by conducting fieldwork, data collection, and analysis, and coordinating project activities and stakeholders. The role also manages research documentation, assists in reporting and communications, and contributes to the overall delivery of the project.

The Research Assistant will provide research support to a specific project. Working under the general direction of the Primary Investigator, the Research Assistant will be responsible for providing support in doing literature reviews
and data analysis, coordinating the day-to-day research activities of the study and acting as the first point of contact for all enquiries related to the study.
Specific responsibilities will depend on the topic, nature, and duration of the project, as provided by the Primary Investigator.
As a Level 3 Research Assistant, you will be expected to contribute specialist support with technical or specialist expertise.
Key Accountabilities Summary
Specific responsibilities will depend on the topic, nature, and duration of the project, provided by the Project Leader.
Duties may include, but are not limited to
Academic literature reviews and database searches
Assist the Chief Investigator and Associate Investigators with data collection and the collation of results
Analyse qualitative and quantitative datausing Stata, R, or Python to support the research findings, prefer Stata
Conducting, recording, and transcribing interviews in English or Vietnamese, with translation if required
Prepare presentations, reports, and publications
Draft reports related to research activity outcomes
Coordinate project team activities, including secretariat support for project meetings
Key Selection Criteria
Required 1–2 years of relevant experience.
Experienced in research support activities such as literature review, data collection and analysis, and familiarity with relevant tools depending on project requirements.
Demonstrated ability to assist with academic research; to collect data, coordinate as well as report results
Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team, and in liaising with people at all levels.
Demonstrated critical thinking skills to evaluate data and make informed conclusions
Problem-solving skills that assure detailed follow-up when required
Proficiency with the use of the Microsoft Office suite of applications.
Demonstrated high-level written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work autonomously whilst displaying a strong commitment to working in a team environment, including the ability to confidently and effectively work with colleagues and project team leaders.
Well-developed planning and organizational skills with proven ability to prioritise multiple tasks set, meetdeadlines, and give attention to detail.
Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and effectively manage varying workloads and respond to changingpriorities as required.
Qualifications: a mandatory requirement is aUniversity degree, a preferredpostgraduate degree in the relevant discipline, with an emphasis on research.
