Job Description

The Wistar Institute has an opening for a Research Assistant to join the laboratory of Dr. Torben Schiffner. The Schiffner lab focuses on developing advanced vaccines that induce broadly neutralizing antibodies against highly diverse pathogens, combining AI/machine-learning-assisted computational protein design with deep analysis of antibody responses in vivo to iteratively optimize next-generation immunogens.

A Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience) is required. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of laboratory procedures, excellent technical skills, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Experience in the following areas is preferred: protein expression in mammalian cells, protein purification, biophysical characterization (SDS-PAGE, surface plasmon resonance, biolayer interferometry, SEC-MALS).
