Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- The Developmental Psychology Lab is seeking a Work-Study Research Assistant to support the development and maintenance of an online research platform used for studies of children's social and cognitive development.
- Primary duties include reviewing research and website guidelines; updating and testing the lab's online child research website; assisting with revisions to study instructions, demographic questions, and participant-facing materials; testing online Implicit Bias Test (IBT) tasks to ensure that practice and test trials are implemented correctly; identifying and troubleshooting usability or technical issues; and documenting completed work and outstanding issues.
- Additional responsibilities may include creating or editing introductory materials and videos for the lab website, adding sample stimuli to study instructions, and assisting with other online research-related tasks as needed.
- This is primarily a remote position with flexible work hours, with an expected commitment of approximately 6–8 hours per week.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current University of Detroit Mercy student eligible for Work-Study employment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and complete assigned tasks on schedule.
- Ability and willingness to learn new software, online platforms, and research tools.
- Strong written communication skills and ability to provide regular progress updates.
- Interest in psychology, child development, behavioral research, technology, or related fields.
