Job Description

The Division of Rheumatology and Immunology at Vanderbilt Health in Nashville, Tennessee, is seeking a full-time, research-focused PhD scientist to join its collaborative and innovative autoimmune disease research program as a Research Assistant Professor.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to independent and collaborative research projects
• Design, oversee, and execute basic science studies
• Prepare manuscripts, abstracts, and grant-related materials
• Present research findings at national and international scientific meetings
• Support divisional research initiatives and mentor junior researchers
• Contribute to the strategic growth of the division’s research mission

The Division of Rheumatology and Immunology has a rich tradition of clinical, investigative, and training excellence. The Division has 30 faculty and over 40 staff members, who participate in a wide range of clinical programs and clinical and basic science research. Qualifications

• PhD, MD, MD/PhD, or equivalent doctoral degree in Rheumatology and Immunology, or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience in laboratory-based biomedical research.
• Experience with experimental design, data analysis, and scientific publication.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to collaborative research efforts.
