Job Description

Position Title: Research Assistant (Part-Time)

Schedule: In-Person and Virtual (Hybrid)

Duration: 6 Months

Location: 1 Washington Square North, NY, NY 10003

Project: Addressing disparities in PrEP uptake using the multiphase optimization strategy framework and implementation science

  • Carry out a scoping review
  • Participate in Community Advisory Board meetings
  • Perform additional related duties as needed
  • Perform additional related duties as needed

This position is classified under the professional research staff category at NYU and does not qualify for visa sponsorship including STEM OPT extension. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States for the duration of employment

Qualifications

  • Current or recent student in public health, nursing, social work, psychology, or other social/behavioral science
  • Experience working on a research study
  • Experience with qualitative and/or quantitative research methods
  • Interest in PrEP, and HIV prevention and treatment generally
  • Excellent organizational and technical skills including using REDCap
  • Must have a high level of attention to detail, flexibility, ability to work on a team, and punctuality

Preferred Education, Experience and Skills

  • Interest in the multiphase optimization strategy framework
  • Experience with health education
  • Experience carrying out a scoping review
  • Experience with qualitative and quantitative data analysis
  • Training and experience in motivational interviewing theory and techniques
  • Knowledge of IRB protocols
