The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases and Geographic Medicine, is seeking a full-time Assistant Instructor. This position will provide expertise, support, and supervision for multiple projects focused on bacterial genomics. Specific scientific areas of expertise include phenotypic testing of bacterial isolates, DNA isolation / sequencing of individuals bacteria as well as polymicrobial bacterial communities (such as the gut microbiome), and genetic manipulation (i.e. gene knockout) of various bacterial strains. The scope of position will include generation of data, management of data output, initial bioinformatic analysis steps, quality control, lab management, and scientific writing, in addition, future responsibilities will include training of junior lab members and students.
· Ph.D.
· Minimum 3 years of experience.
· Completion of postdoctoral training.
