The incumbent will report to the Manager, Office of Spread and Scale (OSS), and will work closely with Drs. Aisha Lofters, and Celia Laur, Scientists in the OSS at the Women’s College Hospital Institute for Health System Solutions and Virtual Care (WIHV).
The OSS aims to advance the science of implementation, sustainability, spread, and scale, by conducting applied research and providing consulting services to support effective interventions to be sustained and expand to new settings and populations. The OSS values collaboration, health equity, and evidence-informed decision-making while prioritizing innovations likely to achieve the greatest impact.
We are seeking a Research Assistant II to support the finalization and dissemination of an implementation toolkit designed to promote health awareness and engagement within Black communities. This project is situated within the OSS mandate to support the spread and scale of effective, equitable health interventions across diverse populations.
The toolkit will support organizations and stakeholders in planning and delivering community-based screening events, and more broadly in promoting health awareness and engagement in their communities. The successful candidate will contribute to refining and strengthening toolkit content, ensuring it is accessible, user-friendly, and grounded in best practices in health promotion and public health. This role will also include supporting dissemination efforts and contributing to the planning and execution of a toolkit launch event.
of Duties, but not limited to:
• Support final refinement and quality assurance of the implementation toolkit to ensure clarity, usability, and accessibility for end users
• Conduct qualitative analysis of user testing data (e.g., interviews, surveys) to identify key themes and inform final toolkit refinements
• Assist in preparing toolkit materials for dissemination, including formatting, editing, and adapting content for diverse audiences
• Collaborate with project team members to design and implement dissemination strategies, including supporting the rollout of the toolkit to community partners
• Supporting planning and coordination of a toolkit launch event, including logistics, material preparation, and stakeholder engagement
• Assists with knowledge translation activities, including the development of reports, presentations, and summaries
• Prepares, submits, and maintains Research Ethics Board (REB) applications both internally as well as submissions to external organizations (if applicable), tracks ethics approvals, and completes renewals/amendments as needed
• Proactively identifies barriers/threats/risks for project completion and work with team members including Investigators
• Implements quality control process throughout the conduct of the study including ensuring the accuracy and integrity of data collection and investigating all missing or apparently invalid data
• Collaborates with Investigator and/or team members to write and edit presentations, reports, proposals, publications, conference materials, and manuscripts.
• May perform aspects of research protocol, as required, in accordance with specified program objectives. (e.g. participant recruitment, data collection, preparing data for analyses, etc.)

Qualifications/Skills:
• Undergraduate degree in health sciences, public health and/or other health-related discipline; ; Master of Public Health (MPH), particularly with a focus on Black Health, is strongly preferred
• 1-2 years of progressive experience working in a research environment and/or academic hospital
• Experience with qualitative data analysis is a key component to this role and is strongly preferred.
• Experience with toolkit development is an asset
• Experience supporting knowledge translation, dissemination activities, or event coordination is an asset
• Experience with Research Ethics Board approval process including submission of initial applications, amendments, annual renewals
• Demonstrated ability to engage with community partners and stakeholders in a respectful and collaborative manner
• Strong organizational and time management skills to work efficiently under conditions of multiple deadlines
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Work efficiently under pressure with strong judgement with excellent problem-solving skills and decision-making skills
• Ability to work independently with a high degree of initiative, discretion and tact
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills are essential
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Computer competency including familiarity with software such as MS Word, MS Excel, and NVivo
• Demonstrated record of good performance and acceptable attendance will be considered as part of the selection criteria
• Professional behaviour and communication that meets the standards of the professional regulatory college or association, as applicable, and the standards of Women’s College Hospital
