Job Description
We are seeking a outstanding candidate to join an established research lab investigating neurodevelopmental and neuropsychiatric disorders. The outstanding candidate will have experience with research utilizing rodents to identify behavioral and molecular phenotypes. This position will work within and integrate into a cohesive team.
Job Duties
- Plans, directs, and conducts research experiments.
- Will perform animal husbandry, animal behavior experiments, tissue collection and isolation of RNA and protein from multiple tissue types.
- Evaluates and analyzes data especially behavior and molecular studies.
- Conducts literature searches and summarizes information in an appropriate format for a particular study.
- Rigorously documents results of experiments and reports to principal investigators.
- Trains and orients less experienced research staff.
- Defines problems and possible solutions.
- Oversees the maintenance of lab equipment and environment.
- May assign activities to less experienced research staff.
- Maintains all certifications required by institution.
- Performs other job related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or a related field.
- Three years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in basic science or a related field.
- Ideal candidate will have meticulous record keeping skills.
- Experience in performing animal behavior experiements.
