To provide research and administrative support in the field of medical genetics and pediatrics to one principal investigator involved in international collaborative interdisciplinary research.
The incumbent reports directly to Dr. Judith G. Hall and works with other faculty, co-investigators, trainees, graduate students, and staff related to ethics, projects, grants, and professional organizations.
Errors or miscommunications could jeopardize relationships and collaborations with investigators, trainees, and subjects. Errors in reporting procedures, could result in a waste of financial resources, non-renewal of research funding, or loss of currently held funding. Inadequate documentation, organization, communication, and planning may adversely affect the image and reputation of the investigator.
This position will report to the Principal Investigator. Once oriented by the PI, job duties are carried out independently.

Master's degree, preferably in the life sciences, health sciences, or social sciences are deemed as assets. Completion of professional development courses on research, project management, finances, and software programs to carry out work. Recent related experience in a collaborative, interdisciplinary research environment, including an understanding of research methodology and medical terminology. Medium to high degree of computer literacy, including familiarity with UBC Library; Microsoft Office word processing, presentations, spreadsheets, database management, C&W Electronic Health Record, and internet resource use. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team. Ability to independently prioritize and organize workload.
