Job Description

The Research Manager will have a critical role and set of responsibilities to help The Legatum Center fulfill its mission. Reporting to the Executive Director and/or Director of Research, the Research Manager will identify, develop, and promote initiatives that will meet the research and thought leadership objectives of the Center.

The Manager will work with the Director of Research and Legatum Center task force on strategic planning for research proposals involving entrepreneurship and innovation within the emerging markets. This includes: 1) identifying opportunities for research, 2) collaborating with the research and thought leadership task force on large scale research initiatives, 3) writing and publishing working papers and case studies, and 4) supporting the development of relevant programs. The Manager will work closely with other Universities, Foundations and other key stakeholders to advance and maintain Center’s position and reputation as a leader in research and scholarship in the area of entrepreneurship and innovation within emerging markets. * This is a two-year term position with possibility of renewal after two years.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Masters Degree
  • 5-7 years experience in conducting research and program management
  • Experience working in Higher Education or with organizations specialized in the area of entrepreneurship and development
  • Experience working in emerging markets
  • Experience with overseeing and writing research reports
  • Requires approximately 15 -20 % travel
