MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented RESEARCH ANALYST to join our team in QUANTICO, VA.

The successful candidate will serve as the principal research analyst and structural architect for an upcoming Force Design blueprint and conduct service-wide force structure analyses of current organizations and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to plan how those structures must adapt to meet future global security demands.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to

  • Lead the research, design, and analytical writing for the upcoming Marine Corps Force Design blueprint, translating high-level national military strategies into viable organizational structures.
  • Conduct exhaustive, service-wide quantitative and qualitative force structure analyses of current Marine Corps capabilities, manning documents (T/O&E), and operational alignments.
  • Evaluate the DOTMLPF-P (Doctrine, Organization, Training, Materiel, Leadership, Personnel, Facilities, Policy) second- and third-order effects of proposed force design changes to advise senior leadership on resource constraints and organizational turbulence.
  • Organize, integrate, and lead collaborative planning teams and working groups comprised of military officers, civilian analysts, and academic specialists to solve complex force management and integration challenges.
  • Review strategic documents, conduct independent research on global security trends, and communicate findings with external partners at the TS/SCI, SAP, CAP, STO, and ACCM levels across all warfighting functional areas.
  • Support the development of executive-level briefs, reports, and investment recommendations regarding future capabilities and force generation modeling.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s degree and at least five (5) years of experience in force management, force development, or strategic defense planning. A bachelor’s degree and (10) years of directly related experience will be accepted in lieu of a Master's degree.
  • At least fifteen (15) years of professional military or defense-related experience, with a significant background operating in high-level staff assignments (e.g., Service Headquarters, Major Command G-3/5/8, Joint Staff, or Combatant Commands).
  • Extensive background in organizational design, capabilities-based assessments (CBAs), or force integration processes, demonstrating a professional background similar to an Army FA-50 Force Management functional area officer.
  • Demonstrated professional experience conducting in-depth research, synthesizing complex raw data (manpower, equipment, and readiness), and executing structured analytic techniques to produce senior-level decision products.
  • Proven capability to think critically, analyze complex/abstract operational concepts, and write clear, concise strategic documents under minimal guidance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • In-depth, practical knowledge of current United States Marine Corps force structure, Marine Air-Ground Task Force (MAGTF) doctrine, and the ongoing "Force Design" modernization initiative.
  • Formal education or certification in military Force Management (such as the 14-week Army Force Management Qualification Course, "How the Army Runs" course, or Joint Service equivalent).
  • Thorough understanding of the Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS), the Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) process, and the Joint Strategic Planning System (JSPS).
  • Professional industry certifications, such as Project Management Professional (PMP/PgMP), Lean Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt), or Defense Acquisition University (DAU) Requirements Management.

Clearance Requirements

Candidate must have a current and active TS/SCI security clearance.

Physical Requirements

  • The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.

The projected compensation range for this position is $97,100.00-$161,900.00. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
