Job Description

The Research Analyst supports the design, implementation, and analysis of impact evaluations across the IPA Latin America and Caribbean (LACO) and Peru office portfolio. The office manages applied research and evidence-to-policy projects in partnership with government counterparts, regulators, and implementing partners across areas including financial inclusion, digital payments, natural resource governance, education, and social protection. The Research Analyst works directly with researchers, government partners, and field teams to manage data, coordinate project activities, and produce policy-relevant analysis, reporting to the Research Associate.

Responsibilities

Research Design and Implementation

Support the design and implementation of impact evaluations, including randomized controlled trials (RCTs), across the office's thematic areas.
Coordinate project activities, timelines, and deliverables in multi-stakeholder environments, supervising field teams where required.
Maintain data quality, documentation, and compliance with research protocols throughout the project cycle.
Support the development of new research opportunities and proposals within the office's thematic areas.

Data Management and Analysis

Clean, manage, and analyze quantitative data, including large administrative datasets, primarily in Stata.
Conduct cost-effectiveness analysis and prepare policy-relevant results for government and public-sector partners.
Apply AI tools and agentic workflows, and use project management platforms such as Asana, to streamline task tracking and team coordination.

Stakeholder Engagement and Communication

Prepare and facilitate technical workshops and meetings with government counterparts and senior partners.
Draft research outputs, including reports, presentations, and briefs that translate results into policy recommendations.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in economics, public policy, statistics, or other social science disciplines.
At least one year of experience supporting or leading applied research projects; RCT experience preferred.
Familiarity with cost-effectiveness analysis.
Experience working with government counterparts or public-sector partners on evidence-to-policy work.
Prior experience managing projects, people, and deadlines in multi-stakeholder environments.
Knowledge of statistics, econometrics, and the fundamentals of impact evaluation.
Data management and analysis in Stata; experience with administrative data.
Experience facilitating technical workshops or meetings with senior stakeholders.
Demonstrated proficiency with AI tools and agentic workflows, including integration with project management platforms such as Asana.
Experience working with administrative data in fast-paced environments, including cleaning, managing, and analyzing large datasets.
Oral and written English proficiency. (preferred)
Experience in education research or projects on financial inclusion and/or social protection. (preferred)

Location

This position is based in Lima, Peru and is a full-time role within the IPA Latin America and Caribbean (LACO) and Peru country office. The position is temporary (3-5 months).
