Responsible for developing and implementing social media strategy that improves overall effectiveness of marketing, corporate relations and media relations for the organization and its brands. Coordinates within the whole organization to ensure consistency in messaging. Monitors social media trends and identify new methods of communicating with consumers, key influencers, brand advocates, etc. Develops metrics to understand the effectiveness of social media activities and how to respond to commentary in social media spaces (Facebook, Twitter, etc.). Leads a team or project area.

Our Public Affairs & Communications team is seeking a Reputation Social Media Senior Strategist to lead our organic reputation social strategy and influence executive thought leadership across social platforms. The strategist will also support our social media intelligence capability, analyzing social data, trends and cultural signals to deliver actionable insights that help advance business priorities and protect the company’s reputation.

Reporting to the vice president of crisis communications and reputation social, the role is designed for a strategic operator with deep expertise in organic content strategy and a strong focus for social measurement and analysis. The strategist will join highly visible team and operate in a fast-paced enterprise environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Reputation Social Content Strategy: Lead the development of organic reputation social content strategies aligned to Public Affairs and Communications priorities. Elevate business and reputation goals across enterprise social channels, primarily LinkedIn and X/Twitter. Partner with peers to support content planning and ensure social strategies are executed in timely, trusted and audience relevant ways.
- Executive Thought Leadership Counsel: Provide strategic guidance for executive thought leadership activities across LinkedIn, working closely with Communications partners to shape executive social strategies that advance business priorities, increase leadership visibility and protect our reputation. Advise on editorial direction, themes and content, balancing enterprise messaging with authentic executive voices.
- Measurement, Reporting and Insight Delivery: Drive enterprise measurement and insights across earned and owned organic social media, executing against established enterprise frameworks. Translate performance data, intelligence and trends into clear, actionable insights. Help inform and optimize content strategies and execution through analysis and reporting tied to KPIs for our Reputation Social and Brand Social teams.
- Social Trends Analysis: Maintain a comprehensive social intelligence strategy equally focused on reputation risk and content opportunity. Identify, analyze and interpret emerging conversations, trends and issues that may impact the company, our leaders, employees, clients and industry. Partner closely with Brand Social (Marketing) to identify and execute timely, strategic opportunities informed by cultural and platform trends.

Additional Responsibilities:
- Ensure data integrity and quality across all functional outputs. Partner with peers and vendors to identify, escalate and resolve data, tooling or methodology issues.
- Support enterprise crisis response through 24/7 social listening during major issues and adverse events, including occasional nights, weekends and holidays.
- Collaborate on vendor relationships, tools, governance and workflows that support social intelligence, content strategy and measurement.
- Continuously optimize tools, methodologies and processes to improve accuracy, efficiency and strategic impact.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
- 6-8 years of experience in organic social media strategy, social listening and social performance measurement, with increasing scope and complexity

Preferred Skills/Experiences:
- Strong understanding of major social platforms, particularly LinkedIn, including platform dynamics, audience behavior, content performance drivers and emerging trends
- Proven success developing and executing organic social content strategies, including content planning, editorial direction and optimization based on performance and audience insights
- Demonstrated hands on expertise with social listening and measurement platforms such as Talkwalker, Sprout, Sprinklr or Brandwatch
- Strong command of social intelligence methodologies, including issue detection, trend analysis, risk identification and opportunity assessment
- Experience translating social data, trends and insights into clear recommendations that inform communications strategy, reputation management or business decision making
- Proven success operating in a fast paced, matrixed environment, managing multiple priorities and shifting timelines without sacrificing quality or judgment
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross functional initiatives, influence without authority and coach or mentor junior team members
- Proven ability to apply sound judgment in high visibility, high risk situations and handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
- Experience working in a regulated industry or Fortune 500 company strongly preferred

Location Expectations

This role is hybrid. Team members who are in a hybrid role typically spend three days a week at the listed U.S. Bank location(s), while having flexibility on their work location for the other working days.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $119,765.00 - $140,900.00
