About the Position
The Maricopa County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) is seeking a Reprographics Specialist focused on providing timely, high-quality production and reproduction of materials and on enhancing public services. Our desired candidate will have specific experience operating high-speed digital printing and other printing equipment to complete production orders, many of which are large-scale and high-volume.
We are seeking skills in report binding, foam-core mounting, wide-format plan copies, and copy machine service (i.e., replace toner cartridges, staples, clear paper jams, set up service calls, order paper, etc.). Effective interaction with a wide range of customers and the ability to adapt to constant change are paramount. MCDOT has two copy centers, both located in the same building. In this role, you will plan and coordinate print center workflow and operations. You will need the ability to receive, assess, and prioritize multiple job orders/assignments, plans, schedules, and complete assignments to ensure compliance with set standards of work production and agreed-upon time frames, and more.

We Require
Two years of experience operating a variety of reprographics equipment
High school diploma or GED
We Also Value
Three or more years of experience operating reprographics equipment
Experience using Adobe Suite applications (Print Shop, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign)
Experience with print management software
Experience with Microsoft Word and Publisher
Large format printing experience, Versa Works RIP, contour cutting, mounting on foam-core, corrugated plastic, installation of perforated window graphics, and vinyl decals
Experience with Command Workstation, Job Master, coil binding, and managing a small fleet of printing devices
Job Contributions
Operate reprographics equipment (i.e., Ricoh Aficio Pro C5100s with Fiery command center, booklet finishers, spiral bind equipment, multi-fold unit, and 3-hole punch, Ricoh Aficio MP7502 (2), Wide Formant Printer Ricoh Aficio MP W5100EN, Fletcher 3100 Foam Board Cutter, Triumph 4850 A Electric Cutter, and Ledco Laminator)
Operate binding equipment to produce a variety of reports, public meeting notices, brochures, door hangers, postcards, foam board signage, and posters, etc.
Create, develop, and implement a quality assurance methodology. Maintain appropriate supply inventory and act as a liaison with supply/print vendors
Create labels for binders, tabs, file folders, and disks; load copiers in the reprographics center with paper and toner
Troubleshoot basic equipment problems for all MCDOT copiers, remove paper jams, and place service calls when needed
Produce and maintain reports containing production statistics and provide them to the supervisor each month
Identify under-utilized copiers and suggest areas of relocation
Evaluate capacity in the reprographics area and facilities distribution
Manage complex production projects, evaluate the color quality of printing and copying
Other job duties as assigned
Working Conditions
Exerting 20 - 25 pounds occasionally, 10 - 25 pounds frequently, or up to 10 pounds constantly
Position is typically office or administrative work and is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions
