
The Reproductive Health Assistant (“Medical Assistant”) provides direct clinical support for family planning, medication abortion, and procedural abortion services. Working with clinicians and nursing staff, this position prepares patients, assists with visits and procedures, and promotes safe, timely, patient-centered care. Occasional front desk coverage may be assigned.
Performance is evaluated through clinical competency, patient safety, documentation accuracy, patient experience, and teamwork.
Complete required PPIL onboarding and initial competency validation within established timelines; maintain competencies through ongoing training and reassessment. Perform other duties as assigned within the role’s authorized scope.
Education (Strongly Preferred): Graduation from a medical assisting program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES). Professional certification (CMA/RMA) is not required.
Experience (Required): At least one year of experience using an electronic health record; Epic experience is strongly preferred.
Experience (Preferred): One or more years of experience as a Medical Assistant in a high-volume ambulatory care setting; reproductive healthcare and Electronic Health Records experience preferred.
Skills: Clinical organization, accurate documentation, patient-centered communication, infection prevention, and effective teamwork.
Frequent standing, walking, reaching, and computer use; occasional assistance with patient movement and lifting up to 25 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be provided.
