Clearing (Senior Lead Analyst)

About the team

The primary function of the role will be to perform and ensure timely trade clearing as per exchange deadline and accuracy in lifecycle event processing as per the agreed SLA’s.

This job role requires key attention to detail, good understanding of Top day Clearing function, Listed Derivatives product understanding, Lifecycle events on Futures and Options, CCPs break investigation and provide resolutions in a timely manner.

What you will be doing

• Manage the delivery of the daily Clearing activities as per the Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
• Ensure top day trade clearing and trade allocations for global exchanges are performed within the exchange deadlines.
• Lifecycle event processing like Expiries, Average pricing, corporate action.
• Ensure daily regulatory reporting are submitted on timely basis to exchange and any breaks are resolved prior to submission.
• Lead and participate in projects with regards to systemic upgrades, regulatory change, client mandated change.
• Identify, resolve and escalate issues in a timely manner in order to meet the required service standards
• Change Management/process improvements
• Proactively identify areas for performance and control improvements
• Constantly analyze productivity/output to identify potential enhancements or cost savings
• Articulate business cases to management/change/IT to execute and deliver on suggested improvements
• Guide/encourage team to propose solutions and take ownership of changes
• Client Service
• Build strong relationships with all stakeholders (retained team/management/business)
• Co-ordinate timely response and resolution of all queries
• Ensure accuracy and clarity in all deliverables to stakeholders
• Provide constant feedback to stakeholders to improve our service offering
• Provide an effective link between industry platform providers and the participant firm in terms of knowledge transfer and decision making
• Risk Management
• Monitor controls and checks associated with tasks in SOPs. Document these change in timely manner.
• Constantly analyze all activities to close potential risks, gaps and implement preventative/detective controls
• Ensure timely escalations in the event of a risk incident or whenever management attention is needed on a potential issue
• Business/Industry landscape awareness
• Keep abreast of all industry changes/advancements especially with regards to the development of industry tools and regulations
• Awareness and communication of impact to utility management – generate action plans to develop positive outcomes/mitigate negative outcomes from changes
• Understand business risks/impact and escalate to management where necessary

· Change Management/process improvements

o Proactively identify areas for performance and control improvements

o Understand the changes/amendments required in existing process functions or static for Reconciliations due to new client onboarding, market or broker changes or brokers onboarded, test the changes and ensure their implementation without any issues.

o Articulate business cases to management/change/IT to execute and deliver on suggested improvements

· Client Service

o Build strong relationships with all client stakeholders, end clients, client representatives, finance teams.

o Co-ordinate with different teams like reconciliation, clearing and static for timely response and resolution of all queries.

o Ensure accuracy and clarity in all deliverables to client stakeholders.

· Risk Management

o Monitor controls and checks associated with tasks in SOPs. Document these change in timely manner.

o Constantly analyze all activities to close potential risks, gaps and implement preventative/detective controls

o Ensure timely escalations in the event of a risk incident or whenever management attention is needed on a potential issue

· Team oversight

o Evey team members has been provided the right set of training to be able to deliver on the BAU.

o Ensure that relevant control checks been performed to completion of task of expected quality and task has been completed as per expected SLAs agreed.

o Allocation of daily deliverables and rotating the team members to ensure that there is proper back up for each of tasks.

o Daily team management in terms of BAU and client/internal stakeholder escalations management.

o Ensure that the Daily/weekly/Monthly MI/KPI reporting been delivered accurately and as per the expected timelines.

o Complete all admin related work for resources like leave management and resource staffing.

o Ensure that the relevant professional disciplined in maintained as per established standard of the firm like work from office days and other basic expectation from resources. Any deviation should be addressed on time through proper channels.

o Coordinate with other internal teams and ensure that the issues are addressed internally and then client is reached out in consolidated manner.

· Extended roles and responsibilities.

o As part of management group, ensure that the extended scope of deliverables are met as per the agreed timelines.

o Represent the firm as FIS management lead in all possible scenarios facing the client irrespective it’s in purview of functional limits.

o Wok constantly towards building better client services through better processes and contribute for such initiative for the firm.

What you bring:

• Minimum of 8-10+ years of work experience in Futures and Options trade clearing function.
• Good understanding of systems like ClearVision, GMI, ETD.
• Good knowledge of Clearing Houses like ASX, LCH, EUREX, ICE Clear, CME, HKEX, SGX etc.
• Front to back understanding of the Clearing function, upstream dependencies and how it impacts processes downstream around reconciliation, margin and brokerage, so that complex queries can be addressed accurately and in a timely manner
• Detailed understanding of exchange traded derivatives (Futures & Option and OTC products)
• High attention to detail and quality of outputs delivered
• Analytical and can solve problems quickly and innovatively
• Dynamic outlook, with the ability to adapt and change plans on the fly
• Delivery focused; results driven
• Excellent communication and time management
• Strong client service focus.

Qualifications

• MBA Degree or equivalent

• Experience dealing with large financial services clients.
• Experience in Front Office Execution desk processes for ETD & OTC Derivatives
• Experience in Position & Cash Reconciliation for ETD & OTC Derivatives
• Knowledge of Front to Back Trade & Cash Settlement flows
