Job Description

Reporting to the Sales Manager, this role will act as a liaison between customer and distributor. This incumbent oversees developing excellent relationships with customers, and potential customers, while continually seeking new business from them. This role is responsible for putting through orders and ensuring accuracy and attention to detail at every step of the process.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers. Provide excellent customer service and support, addressing inquiries, concerns, and resolving issues promptly.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with customers to close deals. Work with the outside sales team and management to ensure pricing and terms are within company guidelines.
  • Take all relevant cost factors into consideration when developing quotes and ensure that quoted prices will provide the correct ROI.
  • Customer follow-up to ensure their satisfaction, address any concerns, and explore opportunities for upselling or cross-selling.
  • Ensure that all sales activities and interactions with customers comply with company policies, industry regulations and legal requirements.
  • Set and meet sales targets each year. Develop and implement strategies to achieve or exceed these targets.
  • Process all orders promptly as received, ensuring accuracy.
  • Relieve inventory on a FIFO (First in First out) system, unless specified otherwise.
  • Actively seek new business from current customers and potential new customers through pro-active phone calls, faxes, and e-mails.
  • Avoid having any aged inventory. If there is aged inventory, work diligently to rotate it quickly.
  • Respond to requests for quotations promptly.
  • Maintain communication with customers and be an advocate in dealings with internal departments.
  • Provide all required documentation/reports as requested by the customer.

Education and Certifications:

  • Completion of post-secondary education, University / College education in Business or Marketing preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Qualifications:

  • Effective time management skills, ability to prioritize, able to work as a member of a team.
  • Strong math skills and the ability to understand how to work up costs with margins, percentages, and dollar values.
  • Knowledge of both the metric and imperial measurement system an asset.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Functions effectively under pressure, maintaining patience and flexibility.
  • Can manage multiple projects under tight timelines.
  • Experience with Excel, Word, and Outlook. D365 experience is a plus.
  • Previous interaction and experience working with customer service.
  • Drive, determination, and the ability to work both independently with little direction and as part of a team.
  • Focused on value-added selling, customer service, and developing strategic partnerships with customers.

The expected compensation range for this position is $60,800 - $80,100. This range includes base pay and target variable pay. Actual compensation will depend on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and experience. We also consider internal equity to ensure fair and consistent pay practices. This range reflects the expected full compensation range for the role; most offers will fall within the range and not at the maximum in order to allow for future growth.
