Position Title: Draft Technician FLSA: Exempt

GENERAL SUMMARY:
Responds to requests for installations and repairs of draft beer systems and beer taps. Performs preventative maintenance on draft beer systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Receives service requests via telephone daily from sales representatives or directly from customers.
• Provides estimates to customers for draft beer systems that meet the needs of their establishments.
• Services malfunctioning draft beer systems. Inspects and tests reassembled parts to ensure proper functioning within specified standards.
• If serving as a Tap Technician, performs preventative maintenance on draft beer systems, including faucets and tavern heads, for all accounts at time of cleaning.
• Breaks down lines from kegs to flush out lines and remove any buildup.
• Installs new beer taps.
• Inspects parts for wear or other defects.
• Services, replaces, or repairs beer taps.
• Rebuilds and cleans used draft equipment in order to place it back into inventory.
• Plans route for service calls received overnight.
• Works overtime when required.

• Provides estimates to customers for draft beer systems that meet the needs of their establishments.

• Unless company vehicle is provided, must use own means of transportation (i.e., vehicle) to get from account to account in order to service customer accounts/venues.
• Must be able to regularly unload products (case of beer), which average to 40 lbs., but can weigh up to a maximum of 49 lbs. from delivery vehicle and transport into customer accounts.
• Must be able to push/pull/lift kegs on a regular basis which average 170 pounds and can weigh up to a maximum of 186 pounds; you must be physically capable of routinely performing lifting at those weight levels and transporting product into customer accounts, or to their final destination.
• Must be able to move beer within accounts to meet customer demands.
• Requires ability to move easily around account premises in order to inventory current stock levels and display P.O.S.
• Able to rotate product in coolers and on shelves.
• Able to maneuver a two-wheel dolly effectively.
• Regularly required to reach with hands and arms, climb, bend, stoop, kneel and move around tight, low areas when fixing draft beer systems.
• Able to drive safely from warehouse to accounts to service equipment.
• Adeptly able to use draft hand tools, including a faucet wrench and crimpers.
• Must be able to use both an electric hand drill and hole-saw.
Educational/Vocational/Previous Experience:
• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Forklift certification preferred.
• Minimum of 2-3 years related field-plumbing experience.
Working Conditions:
• Warehouse environment.
• Exposure to extreme cold temperatures, dusty conditions, and outside weather conditions, including wet and/or humid conditions.
• Some possible exposure to fumes and chemicals and other toxicants.
