Job Description

NOTICE OF VACANCY
PROFESSIONAL EXTRA DUTY POSITION

Position Title:

  • English Learner Teacher- MVS
  • The EL Teacher will provide instruction to EL students as needed during the school day
  • Write EL plans for students
  • Monitor student progress, assess students, provide modifications for general classrooms
  • Complete reports and communicate with parents/guardians.
  • Administer ELPA 21 Screener and Assessments
  • Flexibility in scheduling direct services is necessary
  • The teacher will report directly to the building principal and Director of Federal Programs.


Qualifications:

  • Successful applicant must hold a valid West Virginia Teaching Certificate with an EL endorsement or EL permit.
  • If EL endorsed applicants are not available, reading endorsement or graduate level training in EL will be considered.
  • Experience working with EL students is preferred.
  • Knowledge of appropriate teaching techniques and methods for teaching EL students, cultures, and the ability to work collaboratively with regular classroom teachers is necessary.


Effective Date:

  • 2026-2027 School Year


Salary:

  • Hourly based on daily rate of pay. Number of hours based on student needs, per student. Number of students vary per year.
