Job Description

Job Purpose

Act as Regulatory Reporting Specialist, responsible for the accurate, timely, and compliant preparation and submission of statutory and regulatory reports to Chinese authorities, including but not limited to the CBIRC, PBOC, SAFE, and insurance association.

The Reporting Specialist will execute a high-volume, time-sensitive reporting portfolio, perform data validation and reconciliation, and support continuous process improvements in collaboration with the reporting team.

How you will create an impact:

1. Regulatory Report Preparation & Submission

  • Execute end-to-end preparation and submission of monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual regulatory reports as per the established reporting calendar (reports of CBIRC, PBOC, SAFE, and insurance association).
  • Maintain clear documentation and audit trails for all reports submitted.

2. Data Verification & Quality Control

  • Conduct reconciliations between system-generated data and reported figures to identify and resolve discrepancies.
  • Perform reasonableness checks and variance analysis on key metrics prior to submission.
  • Escalate data issues or anomalies to the supervisor and relevant IT/business owners for resolution.

3. Supporting Analysis & Management Reporting

  • Perform preliminary analysis of reported data to identify trends, outliers, or significant variations.
  • Prepare summarized insights and exception reports for management review to facilitate efficient supervisory sign-off.
  • Utilize analytical tools (e.g., advanced Excel, pivot tables, power query, data visualization) to enhance reporting accuracy and presentation.

4. Compliance & Continuous Improvement

  • Stay updated on regulatory changes and reporting requirements from relevant authorities.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance reporting efficiency, accuracy, and automation.
  • Prepare and update SOPs to cover the full operational cycle, encompassing both execution guidelines and corresponding verification steps.
  • Support ad-hoc regulatory surveys, questionnaires, and internal/external audit requests as needed.

5. Participate in AIG corporate AML training, and be obligated to perform AML related duties, including KYC, large/suspicious transaction reports, high-risk customer reports etc.

6. Ad-hoc tasks/projects assigned by managers.

What you will need to succeed:

  • Bachelor Degree or above on accounting related, CPA, ACCA is preferred.
  • Finance-related working experience, insurance company experience and audit firm working experience are plus.
  • Good professional ethics.
  • Good communication skill, problem solving skill and time management skill.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, esp. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access and PowerBI.
  • Strong sense of responsibility and willing to initiate.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Good oral and written English.
  • Willingness to learn and improve.
